| 1. Do you travel?
Gladly. The fee for travelling depends on the distance
and the amount of time which must be allowed to ensure
timely arrival at your venue. (Top
of page) 2. How much do
you cost?It depends on the number of musicians, upon which
particular instruments you choose, length of engagement and
location. Our clients tell us our fees are very reasonable
         and competitive. Fees. (Top
of page) 3. When would the
musicians play?Divertimento musicians can play for the wedding ceremony,
cocktail reception / receiving line, through dinner, and /
or for background music after dinner if you don't plan on
having dancing. (We can refer you to other companies if you
are seeking a live band for dancing or a DJ.) 4. Can you play in
my Church / Synagogue? The short answer: Probably. We have been privileged to contribute to the services in
many, many houses of worship, from Anglican to Zoroastrian.
We are very careful to respect all requirements and
guidelines. Our experience can help guide you, and our bookings lead
us to constantly expand our knowledge of practices and
musical selection. Nonetheless, it is wise to confirm that
your house of worship permits outside musicians. (Lists of
your proposed music selection can be provided to the clergy
or musical director for approval, if required.) (Top
of page) 5. What do you wear?Musicians dress to enhance your event, from elegant
formal evening wear to dressy casual, or theme wear by
special arrangement. Usually, gentlemen in tuxedos or dark suit, ladies in
         dressy concert black. (Top
         of page) 6. I don't know what
music I want for my wedding ceremony. Can you help me!?Yes. Marianne Carefoot will meet with you in person or
over the phone to help you choose the music, traditional or
non-traditional (within the bounds of what is allowed in
your place of worship or venue). (Top
of page) 7. How do I decide what
instruments I want?We have demo CDs available of many of the groups.
These can be mailed to you at no cost. (Someday soon we may
even have sound clips on our website....these classical
musicians being dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st
century...) Seriously though, if you have an idea of the type of
music you are looking for, we can suggest which ensembles
may be most enjoyable. Sometimes, a particular song title
request can be helpful in finding a direction, too.
         (Top of
         page) 8. I have a special
piece of music in mind. Can you play it?Probably. (Another "It depends" question!) We already
have an extensive and varied repertoire. But if you have a
special piece which is not on our lists, most music can be
successfully arranged for these ensembles. Some styles of music suit some instruments better than
others, and that may affect your final choice of
instruments. We may ask that you provide a recording of your
special piece. Because of the time involved in writing some
arrangements, there may be a nominal fee for the
         arrangement. (Top of
page) 9. Do you have a minimum
time for bookings?1 - 2 hours, depending on the kind of engagement, date,
         and location. (Top of
         page) 10. Do you play
out-of-doors? (...or Divertimento "al fresco"...)Yes. For the musicians, there is always sunscreen and
bugspray, but because the fine professional instruments are
sensitive and valuable, they must be protected from direct
sunshine and any precipitation. Temperature and wind
direction are considerations, and relatively level ground is
         preferable. (Top of
page) 11. How soon should I
book?We book as far as 18-24 months ahead (..or as soon as for
tomorrow, if we are available!). Our advice is that as soon
as you are sure of what you want, you should book so you
         know you have it. (Top
of page) 12. How do I firm up a
booking / what happens when I am ready to book? When you are ready to confirm the booking, we will email,
fax or mail you a contract, to ensure all agreed upon
details of booking are clear and correct. We usually ask for
a deposit of approximately 40%, and the balance is usually
due on the day of engagement. (Top
